Why would I need a web hosting account?
You would need a web hosting account if you've built a website (or plan on building a website) that you want to make available to the internet public. With a web hosting account, you can "upload" your website to our servers, and your website will then be visible to all people who surf the internet.

How much does a web hosting account cost?
That depends on how much storage space and data transfer you need.... but you can get a web hosting account for as little as $3.33 US per month. In fact, it is that "Starter Plan" that is all most of our customers need. Learn more about our Starter Plan.

What is "Storage Space" and "Data Transfer"?
These are the two variables that define how "large" your hosting account is.
Storage space:  is simply the amount of disk space (or hard drive space) that gets allotted to your hosting plan. A typical website may require 5 or 10 MegaBytes (MB) of storage space... but of course, that depends on how many images and pages there are. But our 50 MB Starter plan is typically more than most people will ever need in a hosting plan.
Data Transfer:  is a measure of how much traffic is visiting your website. It includes visitors to your website, incoming and outgoing email messages, and FTP traffic. It's typically measures in GigaBytes (GB), where 1 GB = 1,024 MB. Many people commonly refer to data transfer as "bandwidth". This is actually not correct. Bandwidth is a measure of the "size of the pipe", whereas data transfer is a measure of the "information going through the pipe". When someone asks you how much bandwidth in GB you get with our Starter plan, you can say, "I believe you are referring to data transfer.... and the answer is 2 GB". :)

How will I be billed/invoiced?
As soon as you place your order with us through our online order form, your credit card will immediately be charged the amount of your first month. The date you placed your order will then become your "anniversary date" meaning that on that same date every month, you will automatically be charged the monthly fee for the next month's hosting (this is assuming you choose a monthly term). This is called recurring billing, and will continue every month until such time as you cancel your account. Billing will stop immediately upon you canceling your account.

How will the charges show up on my credit card statement?
Charges will show as having come from either BISHMORE (short for Bishmore Holdings Ltd., our parent company), or WORLDPAY (WorldPay is our payment processor: www.worldpay.com).

Must I use a credit card to place an order?
No. We also accept PayPal. If you wish to order a hosting or reseller plan and pay with your PayPal account, send an email to info@roundberry.com.

Can you host International domain names?
Yes. We support all domain name extensions available throughout the world. The three most popular are .com, .net and .org. Examples of other domain name extensions are: .ca, .co.uk, .com.au, .info, .biz, .tv, .ws, .cc, .us, .bz, .name, .de, .jp.... and there are many more available.

Does the monthly price include the cost of registering a domain name?
No. If you do not already have a domain name, then you will have to register one separately. You can register one through us for $10.95 US per year. Click here to register a new domain name.

Will there be any ads on my website?
No! That is, not unless they are ads that you design into your website. Some budget hosting companies offer very cheap web hosting, but have a stipulation that an ad for their company will be placed at the top or bottom of your website. That is not the case with our hosting plans. Our hosting plans are 100% "ad-free". But again, you are more than welcome to put ads on your website yourself :)

Are your order forms secure?
Absolutely. We use WorldPay as our payment processor, and all order forms where you enter your payment information are actually hosted on the secure WorldPay system. WorldPay are specialists in secure online transactions.

Do you offer discounts if I want more than one account?
Unfortunately we cannot offer volume discounts on our monthly prices, because our pricing is already set as low as possible.

But I have MANY accounts that I need hosted. Can you do better than $40/year?
If you require hosting for many accounts and want to pay less than $40/year for them (the price of our Starter plan), then consider getting a reseller plan instead. With a reseller plan you can have multiple hosting accounts for one low monthly price. Starting at $14.95/month for up to 10 hosting accounts (Reseller Starter Plan), or $29.95/month for unlimited accounts (Reseller 2 Plan), you can actually use our reseller plans to build your own hosting business.

Can I resell your accounts?
Certainly! You can order as many accounts as you wish, and resell them to your own customers. You can resell the accounts for whatever price you wish.

How do the "unlimited domain" reseller plans work?
Both the storage space and data transfer limits imposed on your reseller plan, are based on the total amount of space "used" by all your hosting accounts combined... not the total amount of space "given" to those accounts. For example, let's say you sell 100 hosting accounts and assign each one a storage space limit of 100 MB. If you multiple that out, you've "given" 10,000 MB of storage space. However, if the average account only " uses" 10 MB of storage space (which is typical), then only 100 accounts x 10 MB = 1,000 MB is being used. That's only half of what you're allowed in the Reseller 2 Plan.... meaning at that rate, you can sell 200 accounts before reaching your 2000 MB storage space limit. If you sell those accounts for $10/month, your revenue would be $2,000/month.... while your cost is only $29.95/month (for the Reseller 2 Plan).

What if I go over the storage space or data transfer limits of my reseller plan?
We do not automatically charge for overages should you happen to go over your limits. We also do not "turn off" any of your services. We understand that you are running a business, and that these things may happen. As you grow out of your reseller plan, you will eventually want to upgrade to a larger plan, or even your own server. If you happen to outgrow your plan before upgrading, we will simply send you an email recommending an upgrade, and work with you to get it done. If your upgrade requires a move to your own server, then we will facilitate that move for you.

If I sign up as a reseller, will you remain anonymous to my customers?
Yes. Our nameservers are all based on the rbynet.com domain name, which is owned by our parent company, Bishmore Holdings Ltd. So even if you didn't setup your own custom (private) nameservers and just used ours, any customers of yours that decided to go digging for information would simply see that you are hosting them on a rbynet.com server. They will not find RoundBerry.com through our nameservers, so we remain completely anonymous to your customers. The control panels you would be giving your customers will also have our RoundBerry logo removed from them.

Can I use content from your website to make my own hosting business web site?
Absolutely! Feel free to use any material you find useful on our site. But a word of caution.... we promote RoundBerry.com quite aggressively on the internet. It is therefore not inconceivable for your customers to happen across our website if they go looking for another web hosting company. If they do, you wouldn't want your site looking too much like ours, since it may become obvious that you are a reseller of ours.... or vise versa :)

If I sign up as a reseller, do you offer technical support to "my" customers?
Not directly. You are responsible for supporting your own customers. However, if you are ever asked a question that you do not know the answer to, you can ask our support staff yourself. Once you get your answer from us, you can then answer your customer. This may seem cumbersome at first, but you'd be surprised at how quickly you'll get to learn the answers to the questions that get asked the most. As time goes on, you won't be having to consult our support staff for every question your customers ask you.
Having said that, we do fully "support" all accounts that you host on our servers. So if you (or your customer) ever finds a problem with any of the accounts, you should send us a support request and we will take care of the issue, and get back to you promptly.

Can I have MP3's and/or Video's on my website(s)?
Yes, provided you own the copyright to them.

What about adult sites?
Absolutely NOT. We do not allow any pornography, adult-related material, or links to such websites in our hosting accounts. People caught abusing this policy will have their hosting accounts terminated without warning.

Are you a reseller for another hosting company?
No. We own or lease all our own equipment, and manage it ourselves.

How long have you been in business?
We've been in the hosting business, developing, managing and hosting websites since 1998. However, the RoundBerry brand is relatively new, having just started in February 2004.

Do you offer technical support?
Yes! We have several levels of support available to our customers, all of which are free. We have a library of over 40 flash tutorials that explain many facets of your web hosting account. We also have a Getting Started Guide that tells you what you should do first when you sign up, a Control Panel Help page that explains all the features available in your control panel, a Control Panel Demo so you can "try before you buy", and a technical support staff that is available 24 hours a day, everyday, ready to answer any questions or help with any problems you may have. To order a web hosting or reseller plan, simply select the appropriate order form. Choose the order form that corresponds to the plan you wish to order, and then follow the online instructions. Once you submit your order, we will create your account, and send you a "Welcome Email" containing all the information you need to login to your control panel, connect to your account, upload your website, set up email accounts, and much more.

How fast is support? What if I have a question/problem?
Our support staff is always available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including all holidays. They typically answer all support issues within 1 hour, no matter when you submit your ticket. We feel it is important to always be available to existing customers, especially for technical support issues.

OK I've signed up! How do I view my website prior to my domain name propagating?
You can immediately view your website prior to your domain name propagating by using the following link:
http://IPaddress/~username
Where "IPaddress" is the IP address given to you in your welcome email, and "username" is the username for your new account which is also given to you in your welcome email. So for example, if we assigned you the IP address of 12.34.56.78, and a username of "youracct", then you would simply browse to:
http://12.34.56.78/~youracct
If you wanted to view a specific page you uploaded, say "contactus.htm", then you would browse to:
http://12.34.56.78/~youracct/contactus.htm
